Installing Simple Voice Chat

Optionally Although I'm Alone has an in-game proximity voice chat.

prerequisite: In order to use Simple Voice Chat you will first need to install Fabric & Fabric API on your client. Instructions can be found here.

 

  • Then copy this file to your Minecraft mod folder using file explorer.

 

  • If everything was done correctly you should now be able to use in game voice chat.
    start up the game. When on the server. press V to access the voice chat menu.

On the client side.


 

  1. Go-to: https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/

    • Click either download for windows or download universal installer. it doesn't matter which.

  2. Run the fabric-installer that was downloaded.

    • In the installer, don't change anything. but copy the install location for later.
    • Click install.
    • Once finished exit installer.
  3. Start Minecraft.

    • Load it as far as the menu screen.
    • Then exit the game.

Once Fabric is installed it's time to add the API

 

  1. Go-to: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-api

    • Click download
    • The file should look similar to this: (file: fabric-api-0.68.0+1.19.2.jar )
  2. copy this file to your minecraft mod folder using file explorer.

    • Using the the install location you copied earlier with the addition of \mods at the end.
    • example: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods
        • If that doesn't work or you're having trouble figuring out where the mod folder is located
        • Try typing this into your file explorer: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods
          • %appdata% Is an environment variable. When typed in the address bar it will automatically fill in the correct address that points to your appdata folder, where Minecraft data is stored.
  3. Once The file is copied into the mods folder, you should be all set. You're now ready to install other client mods that depend on Fabric.

Vanilla Tweaks

We use the following Vanilla Tweaks datapacks.


  • Anti Enderman Grief

    • Stops Enderman from picking up or placing blocks.
    • Everyone wanted this.

  • Coordinates HUD.

    • Displays player coordinates.
    • can be switched on and off with the command:
    • /trigger ch_toogle

  • Nether Portal Coords.

    • Calculates coordinates of where you should place your portal in the opposing dimension.
    • Triggering command will display the coordinates in chat:
    • If in the Overworld use: /trigger nc_inNether
    • If in the Nether use: /trigger nc_inOverworld

  • Durability Ping.

    • Warns you if your gear gets low
    • can be switched on and off with the command: /trigger duraPing

  • Armorstand Handbook.

    • Create custom armor stand statues.
    • To obtain the handbook. Sign a book and quill as "Statues".
    • Optionally this datapack can be paired with the client side mod: armor-statues
    • It also allows turning item frames invisible with the command: /trigger if_invisible

  • Craftable Bundles.

    • Craft and use Bundles in survival using rabbit hide & string.

  • Wandering Trades.

    • Purchase mini blocks from wandering traders using emeralds + the normal sized block.

  • Silence Mobs

    • Silence any mob by name tagging it: "Silence me"; "silence me"; or "silence_me". Any will do.

 

 

Plugins

These are the plugins we use.


  • CoreProtect

    • CoreProtect is used to keep records of all actions made by all players or entities throughout the server. It's what allows us to perform roll-back operations and identify what player was responsible in the event of griefing or theft.

  • WorldGuard

    • We use Worldguard to protect small areas such as spawn areas. These areas are kept as small as possible to encourage players to build.

  • DeathMessages

    • DeathMessages allows for more detailed death message scenarios. It also translates death messaged into DiscordSRV.
    • It also allows us to toggle death message broadcasting per user.
    • If you do not want your death messages broadcasted to the whole server. Please let one of our admins know and we can toggle it for you.

  • DiscordSRV

    • DiscordSRV is what allows us to syncronize our in-game chat with a Discord channel.

  • Essentials

    • Essentials on this server is mostly for staff convenience.

  • Floodgate & Geyser-Spigot

    • Geyser allows Bedrock players to connect to a java server using a bedrock client.

  • Vivecraft Extension

    • Vivecraft Is a Virtual Reality plugin for Java Minecraft.

  • GravityControl

    • GravityControl un-patches gravity block duplication.

  • HolographicDisplays

    • Pretty floaty signs at spawn...

  • Simple Voice Chat

    • Simple Voice Chat enables the use of in game proximity chat using a client side mod.

  • WorldEdit

    • A tool only admins use, mostly for use in aiding in rolling back and fixing griefs.
